CAUTION

Never replace a blown fuse in your Subaru Ascent with one of a higher rating or with non-approved materials. Doing so may result in serious electrical damage or even fire.

NOTE

Each fuse in your Subaru Ascent is labeled with its rating and corresponding circuit on the inside of the fuse box cover for easy identification.

Fuses are designed to protect the electrical systems of your Subaru Ascent by melting when excessive current flows through a circuit. This prevents damage to wiring and sensitive electronic components.

The Subaru Ascent is equipped with two fuse boxes for convenient access and system protection.

One fuse box is located beneath the instrument panel on the driver’s side. To access it, simply pull off the protective cover.

The second fuse box, also known as the main fuse box, is positioned within the engine compartment of your Subaru Ascent. Spare fuses and the fuse puller tool are typically stored inside the fuse box cover for convenience.

When removing the fuse puller, pinch its upper section firmly to release it from its holder.

If any electrical components such as lights, accessories, or control systems in your Subaru Ascent stop functioning, inspect the corresponding fuse first. A blown fuse should be replaced promptly.

1. Turn the ignition switch to the "LOCK"/"OFF" position and ensure all electrical systems are turned off.

2. Remove the fuse box cover.

3. Identify the potentially blown fuse by referring to the diagram on the back of the cover.

4. Use the fuse puller to carefully remove the suspected fuse.

5. Inspect the fuse. If it is blown, replace it with a new fuse of the same rating to restore proper operation.

6. If the replacement fuse blows again shortly after installation, this indicates a deeper electrical issue within your Subaru Ascent.

In such cases, contact your SUBARU dealer for professional diagnosis and repair.

Before installing any additional electrical accessories such as fog lights or aftermarket equipment in your Subaru Ascent, always consult your SUBARU dealer.

Improper installation or the use of incompatible components may disrupt the vehicle’s electronic systems and lead to malfunctions or damage.
