position and ambient lighting conditions are dark. - When the light control switch is set to "AUTO" and the Subaru Ascent headlights activate automatically due to low surrounding light levels.
You can manually adjust the brightness of the Subaru Ascent displays to match your personal preference and driving conditions.

Auto dimmer cancel function
When ambient lighting conditions are bright, the Subaru Ascent automatically sets the display brightness to its maximum level regardless of the control dial position. In this situation, manual brightness adjustment is not available.
When ambient lighting becomes darker, the dimming function is reactivated, allowing the driver to adjust brightness using the control dial as needed.
The operational status and sensitivity of the auto dimmer cancel function in the Subaru Ascent can be customized by an authorized SUBARU dealer. Contact your dealer for detailed configuration options.
