2. If the booster battery is installed in another vehicle, ensure that the two vehicles do not come into physical contact to avoid electrical hazards.
3. Switch off all unnecessary electrical devices, including lights, audio systems, and climate controls, to reduce load during the jump starting process.
4. Connect the jumper cables precisely in the sequence illustrated to prevent electrical damage.
- Attach one end of the first jumper cable to the positive (+) terminal of the discharged battery in your Subaru Ascent.
- Connect the opposite end of this cable to the positive (+) terminal of the booster battery.
- Attach one end of the second cable to the negative (−) terminal of the booster battery.
- Secure the remaining end of the cable to a solid, unpainted metal point such as the strut mounting nut on the Subaru Ascent with the discharged battery.
Ensure that all cables are positioned safely away from moving engine parts and that the clamps do not accidentally touch other metal components.
5. Start the engine of the vehicle equipped with the booster battery and allow it to run at a moderate speed. Then attempt to start the engine of your Subaru Ascent.
6. Once the engine starts successfully, disconnect the jumper cables carefully in the exact reverse order of connection to avoid sparks or electrical issues.
