Subaru Ascent 2018-2026 Owner's Manual: Malfunctions of the center information display

If your Subaru Ascent displays any of the following abnormal screen behaviors, it may indicate a temporary glitch or malfunction within the center information display system.

In many cases, such issues are minor and can be resolved by performing a simple reset procedure. Follow the steps below to attempt recovery of the display functionality in your Subaru Ascent.

1. Safely park your Subaru Ascent in a secure location away from traffic.

2. Turn the ignition switch to the "LOCK/OFF" position, wait briefly, and then restart the engine to attempt a system reset.

3. If the center information display in your Subaru Ascent does not recover after restarting the engine, press and hold the volume button for more than 10 seconds.

This action will force the system to reboot and may restore normal operation.

4. If the display still does not respond after performing these steps, contact your SUBARU dealer for further diagnostics and repair.

Moonroof (if equipped) - if the moonroof does not close

If the moonroof in your Subaru Ascent fails to close properly, it is recommended to have the system inspected by an authorized SUBARU dealer to prevent further complications or water intrusion.
