To access rear climate control settings on the display, tap the rear climate control mode indicator.

Locking and unlocking the rear climate control panel (if equipped)

To prevent unintended adjustments by rear passengers in the Subaru Ascent, the rear climate control panel can be locked using the central display.

Activate the lock by selecting "LOCK" on the rear climate control screen.

The lock indicator " Subaru Ascent rear climate control lock indicator icon" will appear on both the main display and the rear control panel, confirming that the controls are disabled.

To restore rear passenger control, tap "LOCK" again to unlock the system.

Available airflow modes include:

Subaru Ascent rear airflow ventilation mode outlets

Ventilation: Air is directed through the rear vents toward passengers.

Subaru Ascent rear airflow heat mode foot outlets

Heat: Warm air is directed toward the footwell area beneath the rear side trim.

Subaru Ascent rear airflow bi level mode vents and foot outlets

Bi-level: Airflow is split between the rear vents and the lower foot outlets, balancing temperature distribution.

Temperature control

Rear passengers in the Subaru Ascent can adjust temperature using either the touchscreen interface or physical buttons on the rear control panel.

NOTE

  • The available temperature range may differ depending on the regional version of the Subaru Ascent.
  • If the front A/C system is turned off, the rear cabin may not reach the selected temperature due to reduced cooling capability.

Fan speed for the rear climate system in the Subaru Ascent can be adjusted using the rear control panel buttons or through the central display interface.

To turn off the rear climate control system

To deactivate the rear climate system in the Subaru Ascent, use the ON/OFF control on the central display or press the corresponding button on the rear climate panel.
