Subaru Ascent 2018-2026 Owner's Manual: Power outlets

CAUTION

  • In the Subaru Ascent, never insert foreign objects into the accessory power outlet, especially conductive materials such as coins or aluminum foil. This can result in a short circuit or electrical damage. Always keep the outlet covered with its cap when not in use.
  • If the plug of your device does not fit securely into the outlet, either too loose or too tight, it may lead to poor electrical contact or become stuck. Only use properly fitting plugs designed for the Subaru Ascent outlets.
  • Extended use of electrical devices while the engine is turned off may drain the battery of your Subaru Ascent and prevent the vehicle from starting.
  • Before driving, ensure that any connected cables or devices do not interfere with gear shifting or the operation of the accelerator and brake pedals. If interference is possible, avoid using the device while driving.

12 V power outlet

The Subaru Ascent provides convenient 12 V DC power outlets that allow you to connect compatible electronic devices when the ignition is in the "ACC" or "ON" position.

These outlets are strategically positioned throughout the Subaru Ascent cabin for easy access.

You can power portable devices in the Subaru Ascent by connecting them directly to these outlets.

The maximum allowable power consumption for connected equipment is 120 W.

CAUTION

  • Only use devices that are specifically designed for 12 V DC operation in the Subaru Ascent.

Do not exceed the maximum output rating of 120 W, as this may cause overheating or electrical failure.

  • If multiple outlets are used at the same time, ensure that the total combined power consumption does not exceed 120 W. Overloading the Subaru Ascent electrical system can lead to short circuits or damage.

Avoid using splitters or connecting multiple high-consumption devices simultaneously.

120 V power outlet

The Subaru Ascent is also equipped with a 120 V AC power outlet, allowing the use of household-style electronic devices when the ignition is in the "ACC" or "ON" position.

This outlet is conveniently located for rear passengers and device charging during travel.

The maximum power output for the 120 V outlet in the Subaru Ascent is 100 W.

CAUTION

  • Use only appliances designed for 120 V AC power with the Subaru Ascent outlet. The total power draw must not exceed 100 W.

Connecting devices with higher power requirements may result in system failure or electrical damage.

  • When using multiple devices, ensure that the combined power consumption does not exceed 100 W. Overloading the outlet may cause short circuits or malfunction.

Do not use adapters or connect more than one device if it exceeds the rated capacity.

  • Before adjusting or sliding the second-row seats in the Subaru Ascent, disconnect any plugged-in devices from the 120 V outlet to avoid potential damage to the outlet or connected equipment.

The Subaru Ascent power outlet system provides flexible charging and power options for modern devices, ensuring convenience and functionality for both drivers and passengers during daily commutes and long-distance travel.
