WARNING
- Never adjust the steering wheel position while driving the Subaru Ascent.
This could lead to loss of vehicle control and serious injury.
Always perform adjustments while the vehicle is stationary.
- If the tilt/telescopic lock lever cannot be securely locked, readjust the steering wheel. Driving without proper locking may result in dangerous loss of control.

1. Adjust the driver's seat position in the Subaru Ascent to ensure proper driving posture.
2. Pull the tilt/telescopic lock lever downward to release the steering column.
3. Move the steering wheel up, down, forward, or backward to achieve a comfortable and ergonomic driving position.
4. Push the lever back up to lock the steering wheel securely in place.
5. Verify that the steering wheel is firmly locked by gently moving it in all directions.
Heated Steering Wheel system
The Subaru Ascent Heated Steering Wheel system is designed to maintain a comfortable temperature, especially during cold weather, improving driver comfort during winter driving.

To activate the heated steering wheel in the Subaru Ascent, pull the control switch when the ignition is in the "ON" or "ACC" position. The indicator light will illuminate, and the steering wheel will begin to warm. To turn it off, pull the switch again, and the indicator will go out.
CAUTION
- Always use the Heated Steering Wheel system with the engine running to
avoid battery discharge in the Subaru Ascent.
Failure to do so may prevent the engine from starting.
- Individuals with sensitive skin may experience discomfort or minor burns after prolonged use, even at low temperatures. Exercise caution during extended operation.
- Do not cover the steering wheel with accessories, as this may cause overheating and damage the system.
- Avoid spilling liquids on the steering wheel. If this occurs, clean and dry the surface immediately before use.
NOTE
- If the steering wheel surface temperature is already above approximately 104°F (40°C), the heating function will not activate, although the indicator light may remain on.
- The system will automatically turn off after about 30 minutes of continuous use in the Subaru Ascent.
- The temperature level of the heated steering wheel cannot be manually adjusted.
Horn

To sound the horn in the Subaru Ascent, press the center pad of the steering wheel firmly.
