In such cases, contact a SUBARU dealer without delay to diagnose and restore proper operation of the Subaru Ascent safety system.
To turn on/off the BSD/RCTA

BSD/RCTA OFF indicator
The BSD/RCTA system in the Subaru Ascent can be activated or deactivated through the center information display, allowing the driver to adjust system behavior based on driving conditions.
When the system is switched OFF, the BSD/RCTA OFF indicator will illuminate on the combination meter (color LCD), clearly informing the driver that blind spot and rear cross traffic detection are disabled.
NOTE
- In certain scenarios, it is recommended to turn off the BSD/RCTA system
in the Subaru Ascent, as radar signals may be obstructed or distorted.
- When towing a trailer or load
- When using a bicycle rack or attaching equipment to the rear of the vehicle
- When operating the vehicle on a chassis dynamometer or roller testing equipment
- When the vehicle is lifted and the wheels are rotating
- The Subaru Ascent remembers the last system status. If the BSD/RCTA system was turned off before switching the ignition to "LOCK"/"OFF", it will remain off the next time the ignition is turned back to "ON".
