Subaru Ascent 2018-2026 Owner's Manual: Meter information screen

The meter information screen in the Subaru Ascent can be flexibly customized, allowing the driver to switch between various data views depending on current driving needs and preferences. This intelligent display system is designed to provide clear, structured, and easily readable information while maintaining maximum driving safety.

ECO gauge

Subaru Ascent ECO gauge showing fuel efficiency comparison between average and current consumption

The ECO gauge in the Subaru Ascent visually represents the difference between the average fuel consumption (calculated since the last reset of the trip meter) and the real-time fuel consumption. This allows drivers to better understand their driving efficiency and adjust their driving style to achieve improved fuel economy.

The ECO gauge provides a dynamic indication of fuel efficiency, helping Subaru Ascent drivers maintain smoother acceleration and more economical driving habits, as illustrated in the reference chart below.

NOTE

  • The ECO gauge in the Subaru Ascent provides an estimated value and should be used as a general guideline rather than an exact measurement.
  • After resetting the trip meter, the system requires the vehicle to travel approximately 0.6 miles (1 km) before displaying the average fuel consumption. Until this threshold is reached, the ECO gauge will remain inactive.

Clock and outside temperature

Subaru Ascent display showing clock and outside temperature information

This screen in the Subaru Ascent provides essential time and ambient temperature data, ensuring the driver remains informed about external conditions at all times.

NOTE

  • The clock in the Subaru Ascent can be configured to display either a 12-hour or 24-hour time format, depending on user preference.
  • The outside temperature reading reflects the conditions near the vehicle’s sensor. However, accuracy may vary or be delayed under certain circumstances:
    • When the vehicle is stationary or moving at low speeds
    • During rapid environmental changes, such as entering or exiting tunnels or underground parking structures
    • Immediately after starting the engine following a period of parking
  • The temperature unit can be adjusted between Celsius (°C) and Fahrenheit (°F), allowing customization for different regional preferences.

Compass (if equipped)

Subaru Ascent compass display indicating driving direction

The built-in compass in the Subaru Ascent displays the current driving direction, assisting with navigation and orientation, especially in unfamiliar areas or off-road conditions.

Driving range on remaining fuel

Subaru Ascent driving range display showing estimated remaining distance on fuel

NOTE

The displayed driving range in the Subaru Ascent is an estimate based on recent driving patterns and fuel consumption. Actual range may vary significantly depending on driving conditions, terrain, and driving style. It is strongly recommended to refuel promptly when the low fuel warning light is activated.
