Subaru Ascent 2018-2026 Owner's Manual: Safety tips for installing child restraint systems

WARNING

  • Child restraint systems and seatbelts in the Subaru Ascent can become extremely hot when the vehicle is exposed to sunlight.

Always check the temperature of the restraint system before placing a child in it to prevent burns.

  • Never use a seatbelt extender when installing a child restraint system in the Subaru Ascent.

This may prevent the system from being securely fastened and significantly increase the risk of serious injury or death during sudden braking or accidents.

  • Ensure that the child restraint system is properly attached to the vehicle anchors.

When using LATCH anchors in the Subaru Ascent, make sure no debris or foreign objects interfere with proper connection.

A poorly secured restraint system may fail during an accident, putting the child and other occupants at risk.

  • Never leave a child restraint system unsecured inside the Subaru Ascent.

In the event of sudden braking or impact, an unsecured system may be thrown around the cabin, causing injury to occupants.

CAUTION

When installing a child restraint system in the Subaru Ascent, always follow the manufacturer’s instructions carefully. After installation, verify that the system is firmly secured. A loose installation increases the risk of injury in the event of an accident.

The Subaru Ascent is designed with advanced safety systems to protect younger passengers, but proper installation and correct usage of child restraint systems remain essential for ensuring maximum safety.
